Research and Development International, often referred to as “RDI”, is an international think tank established among the waves of the Neo-Globalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. With its relevant project initiated in April 2015, RDI strives to contribute to reaching the objectives of the “Belt and Road Initiative” via completing high-quality research-studies and project actualization objectives. Since its establishment, RDI has held the demand-focused, project-oriented, and results-based mindsets of problem-solving as its principal directives of operations, and has made a significant amount of progress in conducting researches, enabling international cooperation, and facilitating the developments of the “Belt and Road Initiative”. As a result, RDI has now established well-functioning networks of think tanks, international partners, cities, and enterprises.

RDI Network of Think Tanks: By uniting the strengths of domestic and international professional think tanks, leading experts and scholars in the academia and private sector, with a special focus on the important subjects relevant to the “Belt and Road initiative”, RDI utilize its highly valuable functions of providing policy-related consultancies, innovating theoretical frameworks, providing public-opinions related guidances, providing social services, and facilitating public diplomacy to its full extent. Furthermore, RDI has successfully carried out multiple operations on building up connections for senior-level executives, think tanks seminars, institutional empowerments, and subject studies, while supplying high-quality reports from in-depth research-studies to the central and local governments for providing them with well-founded consultancies. Throughout the years, RDI’s reports and policy-recommendations have been effectively studied and implemented by relevant central government ministries and local governments, bringing significant guiding effects for the Chinese enterprises that want to adhere to the “Go Global” initiative.

RDI Network of International Partners: Establishing the system of mutual supports that unites and coordinates strategic partners and supporting organizations, which includes domestic and international political parties, governments, think tanks, enterprises, financial institutions, social organizations, media agencies, and international bilateral and multilateral organizations, structurally supported by the RDI Strategy Committee, dual-chairman system of key countries and international branch networks, RDI Network of International Partners has successfully enabled RDI to facilitate the developments of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, with bilateral and multilateral senior-level connections as the key, and cooperation of enterprises as the vessel.

RDI Network of Cities: supporting high-quality developments of regional societies’ economies, RDI assists cities and counties in mindset and idea innovations, wisdom fusing and coordination, and human resources attractions and accumulations. Focusing on enhancing regional governments’ levels of performances in scientization, democratization, and rule-of-law-actualization, RDI actively conducts research studies on the subjects of comprehensive urban economy and industrial studies, to provide intellectual supports for urban and industrial developments. As of today, RDI has carried out frequent and effective cooperations with the regional governments of Zhuhai, Qingdao, Ningbo, Suzhou, Nanning, Baoding, Xiangtan, Qinghai Province, and Hainan Province, and successfully established the service network of “Think Tank+Cities” with the high-achieving exclusive events series of RDI Senior Advisory Experts Convention, actively and effectively supplied the high-quality sustainable developments of regional economies with professional advisements and strategic planning services.

RDI Network of Enterprises: Integrating leading enterprises and institutions in a diverse collection of disciplines, which includes energy, manufacturing, agriculture, information, services, cultures, trading logistics, infrastructures, medicines, real estates, finances, business cluster managements, ports managements, mining, business associations, and vocational training, with 7 professional services teams each with its particular focus, we provide services in the disciplines of law, policy, technology standardizations, information services, financial supports, cultures and brandings, and capacity building, actively integrating and coordinating governmental, corporate, and disciplinary assets, RDI unites and guides enterprises on their journeys of entering international markets, hence supplying significant amounts of systematic services and supports to enterprises for their participation in the “Belts and Road Initiative”.

The Research and Development International has received endorsements from both domestic and foreign relevant organizations throughout the years. In August 2016, the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) published the China Analysis - A Hundred Think Tanks Blooming in China, which recognized RDI as an exemplifying model of China’s new think tanks, noting that “RDI has established systematic mechanisms for dialogues, exchanges, and cooperation.” ; At the end of December 2016, through systematic analysis on public information, RDI was selected by the “Belt and Road 100” as“Excellent Think Tank for the Belt and Road Initiative”; In addition, after joining the Belt and Road Think Tank Alliance Council led by the Central Committee of CPC’s International Department in February 2017, RDI was honored with the “Annual Excellent Member Brand Activity” Prize by the organization in December 2019; Furthermore, in 2019 RDI was also granted the “Hilal-i-Imtiaz” Pakistan Civil Award by the Government of Pakistan; And last but not least, in 2020, the research project Study on Cooperative Developments of Cities in “Belt and Road Initiative” RDI jointly completed with the China Center for Urban Development of National Development and Reform Commission and the Central Economics Committee of China Democratic League was honored with the 2019 Annual National Development and Reform Commission Outstanding Research Accomplishment Award.
