Ruilin SONG

Ruilin SONG got a Bachelor's Degree in Laws from China University of Political Science and Law and a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from China Europe International Business School. He was once Deputy Director of the Justice Division of Science, Education, Culture and Public Health of Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council of the P.R.C.

SONG mainly engaged in the legislative review and research on health and medicine. He participated in all the activities on health legislation in China from 1987 to 2006 and became a legal expert on health and medicine in China. At the beginning of 2006, he went to University of Sydney of Australia as a visiting scholar to study the reform of the medical and health system. Two years later, he returned to China and participated in the establishment of the Research Center for Medicinal Policy of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association. From November 2009, he was elected as Executive Chairman of the China Pharmaceutical Industry Research and Development Association.

He participated in the "Healthy China 2020" Project research of the Ministry of Health in 2008, served as Deputy Head of the Drug Policy Group and organized the writing of the Study Report for China Drug Policy. From November 2008 to January 2011, he presided over the Study on Perfecting China's Essential Drug System. In August 2011, he presided over the writing of the 1st edition of Study on Perfecting Relief Mechanism for Adverse Drug Events in China. The Chinese Journal of New Drugs under his leadership offers deep thoughts on the challenges in the reform of China's medical and health system.
